The Syro Malabar Church honored itself by conferring the "Gem of the East" title to Rev. Fr. Dr. Varghese Pathikulangara, CMI. Fr. Pathikulangara embodies the original vision of the saintly and scholarly founding fathers of the CMI congregation to be a servant of the Catholic St. Thomas Christians (that eventually became Syro Malabar Church.) Fr. Pathikulnagara lived what he learned by drawing courage from his convictions. ..........
